Special Activities
Rise Against Hunger
Novartis, NJ
Over the summer, I had the privilege of joining a Rise Against Hunger event while interning at Novartis Pharmaceuticals. Alongside fellow Novartis associates and interns, we assembled over 10,000 meals for those in need. The day provided us with networking opportunities, a leadership panel discussion, an enlightening presentation, and the feeling that we were making a real difference.
Greek Life Philanthropy/Events
Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity,
Rutgers University, NJ
Being a part of a fraternity is not all about the party life like people make it out to be. As a member of Alpha Sigma Phi since my sophomore year, I have always been involved in philanthropy and fundraising events. I've utilized Photoshop and Instagram to create promotional graphics, attended various events, sold baked goods and beverages, and have upheld our relations with other Greek Life organizations and charitable organizations such as Embrace Kid Foundation, RAINN, Active Minds, and the Rutgers Dance Marathon.
RU SURE
Rutgers University, NJ
At Rutgers, I am a part of RU SURE, a student-run organization dedicated to promoting safe drinking and dispelling myths surrounding alcohol. I've utilized Photoshop and Canva to promote events and have used word-of-mouth marketing at said events to engage, educate raise awareness among students. Utilizing these creative marketing strategies and outreach initiatives helps us foster a safer and more informed campus drinking culture.
Recent Endeavors
Skydiving
Sussex Skydive, NJ
This past summer, I, along with a friend of mine, completed our second and third skydiving jump. Skydiving was always a dream of mine, and in the summer of 2022, I made it happen. The pure happiness and adrenaline that ran through me that day was like no other. Now, one year later, I have completed three jumps, and after graduation, I will begin completing my skydiving certification. When I tell people about my skydiving experiences, they always ask if I was hesitant before I jumped out... Not for a second. The excitement outweighed any fear I had. I was not waiting any longer to jump out of that plane!
Hiking in the Adirondack Mts.
Lake Placid, NY
What happens when a group of hometown friends haven't seen each other all summer due to busy internships and out-of-state endeavors? They rent an Airbnb in Lake Placid, of course! Besides a few weekends at the Jersey Shore, my friends and I have never gone on a planned trip. In the summer of 2023, we came to the realization that we were nearing graduation, and we had no clue what paths our lives would take in the near future. Some of my friends were already moving out of state for work. To get the best of our remaining summer, we rented out a beautiful lake house in Lake Placid. Our trip consisted of swapping stories on the lake, grilling burgers and dogs, visiting the grounds of the 1980 Olympic Winter Games, and, the highlight of the trip, hiking in the Adirondacks. What was five days felt like five hours. It was truly a trip we'll never forget.
Oktoberfest Celebration
Mountain Creek, NJ
Late September marks the Annual Oktoberfest Celebration in Mountain Creek, NJ. I've passed through the event before as my family, and I headed to the Mountain Creek Zipline Tours back in 2018. I told myself that when I was old enough, I'd return to experience the celebration. I did just that. This fall, the last of my roommates turned 21, and we headed up to Mountain Creek. Together, we tried authentic German beer, listened to great tunes, participated in several activities and games, and, best of all, I got to celebrate my German heritage surrounded by friends.
